Anyone else look at this and see amazing potential for a new King Lear? I know McKellen has already done it but holy crap y’all. McKellen as Lear, Atwell as Goneril and Dockery as Regan? Maybe Jess Brown-Findlay as Cordelia??

I had a dream last night
Where I was friends with Jessica Brown-Findlay and we were hanging out and she was looking over her scripts for like the first four episodes of Series 3. I asked her if I could look at them and she said yes (as long as I didn’t read any of Sybil’s scenes? Idk it was a dream). It was all about Mary being pregnant with twin boys and for some reason Matthew was still in the war but he was fine. I remember being really giddy about it, but annoyed that it skipped over the wedding lol. At any rate, it was a wonderful dream.

Laura Carmichael wore some of Meryl Streep’s clothes from Out of Africa in season 2 of Downton Abbey. Excuse me while I go die at how this is basically confirmation that the universe just likes to do random shit that I will think is amazing and no one will understand why.

Actual email from Elaine today, subject line “Downton.”
The entire email:
“Ok…….is that REALLY Patrick Crawley in the bandages………???? I think not!”
My mom thinks these are real people too
- On the phone the other night
- Me: Did you watch Downton Abbey on Sunday?
- Mom: Ugh. Yes.
- Me: It was the one where Matthew was all hurt right?
- Mom: YES! yes.
- Me: What'd you think?
- Mom: Well, I have to tell you. Lady Mary has really gone up in my graces. She has just been such a trooper through this whole thing, and she has been so sweet with Lavinia.
- I hope Mary knows she has regained Elaine's favor after how disappointed she was in her at the end of season 1.
Anna and Mary’s friendship is probably my favorite relationship on the show. I wish we saw more of it, I feel like it brings out some of the best qualities in both characters, especially Mary who so often is very self-involved. Anna seems to be the only person Mary consistently looks out for other than herself (and Matthew of course).
I hope if Mary and Matthew move somewhere else before they inherit Downton, Mary keeps Anna with her as her lady’s maid. Legit teared up when Anna was like “I have to leave Downton, but I don’t have to leave you.” Uteruses before Duderuses.
